A Wolf, having dispatched a pilgrim, was rebuked by a raven. “Think of his unhappy offspring,” remonstrated the bird. “Consider the destitution of your cubs, if the situation were reversed.” “That would certainly be very doleful,” agreed the wolf, “but I don’t think it’s very likely.”
