Juventino Aranda

(American, b. 1984) Juventino Aranda is a multimedia artist whose work is informed by his family history and heritage. Through his art, he explores notions of identity, including those that relate to the social, political, and economic struggles encountered by many in the Chicano community. Aranda received his BFA from Eastern Washington University.

Aranda was awarded the 2016 James W. Ray Venture Project Award, which is funded by the Raynier Institute & Foundation through the Frye Art Museum | Artist Trust Consortium. The award supports and advances the creative work of outstanding artists living and working in Washington State and culminated in an exhibition at the Frye Art Museum: Pocket Full of Posies, Aranda’s first solo museum exhibition (Jun. 16 – Sept. 23, 2018). His work was also included in Recent Acquisitions in Contemporary Art (Sept. 11, 2021 – Jan. 23, 2022).
